Hofdame

In September we shine our SPOTlight on Hofdame; a special brew from Hofman Café. To make this Belgian golden ale they collaborated with local brewery Het Licht.

One thing that is quite special about this beer is that Hofman Café’s visitors helped to choose which beer was best. The bar collaborated with brewery Het Licht to make a selection of beers, and organised a beer tasting where visitors could meet all first Hofdames. The beers were tested on taste, scent, colour, and drinkability and received one final grade.

In June Hofman Café celebrated the launch of their new beer with a small festival. And the winner is… a fair and quirky one! The one and official Hofdame is a Belgian golden ale with 6,2% alcohol, and a mix of malts, tradition hop, cascade hop and Belgian abbey yeast. The beer tastes best at a temperature between 6 and 8 degrees Celcius. It’s a nice, light beer with flavours that most people will appreciate. It is mildly bitter, refreshing on a warm day, yet comforting when it’s cold.

Try it at home!

The beer is available on tap at the bar of Hofman  for a year, but you can also temporarily buy a bottle at SPOT for the special price of €2,-
